See NSW weather: Wild storms hitting Sydney and much of state, flood evacuations underway.

Some low-lying areas have been evacuated as a strong upper trough brought heavy rain and gale force winds to New South Wales, with the weather bureau warning conditions are expected to worsen with flooding, abnormally high tides and damaging surf.

Authorities have warned the weather is expected to become more severe into Sunday as an east coast low trough moves down from the north coast past Sydney and onwards to the south coast.

A flood watch has been issued for 23 NSW rivers…

Residents in the Illawarra and south coast are bracing for more rain, after being hit with 100 millimetres on Friday night, as the east coast low continues to move south across the state…

Next day

It is windy but mostly dry this morning. Yesterday was so wet and wild I didn’t even cross the road to go to the local shop!
