RAAF 1921-2021

Here I am in 1945. Please note the wings on my shirt. Yes, I was born into a Royal Australian Air Force family.

My dad was still in the RAAF in Papua. Here he is in the cockpit of a Kittyhawk in Port Moresby:

Why this today? Because of this story in the Sydney Morning Herald.

Two veterans of Bomber Command in World War II, Ron Houghton, 96, and Tony Adams, 97, are almost as old as the air force itself.

They were at the Anzac Memorial, appropriately next to the Pool of Reflection, on Friday to mark the 100th birthday of the RAAF founded on March 31, 1921.
