Hmm, in a few hours two of the least inspiring people ever to run for what is still the top job in the world have their debate, so called as it is highly unlikely there will actually be a “debate”. On the one hand we have a reincarnation of Barnum crossed with Willy Loman, on the other an octogenarian with a genuine speech defect not unlike that of George VI whose best times are behind him. How bloody inspiring!

Today I plan to blog mainly about footy tipping. Now I have to survive another Wordle.

The “debate” has been abysmal.

After our ABC’s normal news I checked in on SBS where that unseemly spectacle in Atlanta continues. Neither of them, America! Get someone who is not a struldbrug or liar! Meanwhile, Woolies chicken and corn soup took the bad taste away….

3 hours ago: To escape the US Presidential “Debate” — which is on all main free to air channels — either 1) do not turn on your TV or 2) go to NITV and watch Ernie Dingo. The latter is the more rewarding. I may watch the Triden Show but with a pre-lunch Shiraz to make it bearable.

REVISE THAT! Thanks to our ABC you can watch THE ANTIQUES ROADSHOW — no, that is not a nasty name for the “debate” — on the main ABC Channel, as the other antiques roadshow — that is a nasty swipe at the “debate” — is only on ABC News.

11am : Shiraz poured and watching the other antiques roadshow on ABC News. Biden babbling and speech defect noticeable. Trump replies with characteristic looseness of facts and empty hyperbole… And so it goes… At 14 minutes Biden is tongue-tied but Trump is shameless in his over the top fact-free assertions and galloping egotism. My conclusion is there is no debate happening and neither man is really fit for office, though one of them is at least sane.

11.20am: The “debate” is so abysmal I have turned my TV off in disgust. Trump has a child’s brain, Biden is past his prime for sure. Can’t America do any better that this rary-show?
