Oz movie binge

Thanks to Wollongong Library!

First, a set of three DVDs. In order of when made, we have: Sunday Too Far Away, starring Jack Thompson (1975), The Shiralee, starring Bryan Brown and Rebecca Smart (1987), and The Sum of Us, starring Jack Thompson and Russell Crowe (1994).

Add to those Squizzy Taylor with David Atkins, Steve Bisley and Jackie Weaver (1982). The HD print comes up well and there is an interesting featurette on the real-life Taylor.

Finally, two DVDs of Tony Robinson Explores Australia (2011). Love it!

ABC has just started showing his later series.

ABC has picked up 20 episodes of Tony Robinson’s Time Walks which sees Tony Robinson visit a different Australian location and uncover its secret history.

Seasons one and two visit all the major cities as well as Wollongong, Bendigo, Newcastle, Kalgoorlie, Launceston, Townsville and the Barossa Valley. He also travels to New Zealand to uncover stories about Wellington and Christchurch.

Episode One this week begins in Fremantle…

Saw that. Very good,
