Changes at Steelers

The renovations at Steelers Club are well advanced. I have to admit the result is rather good. There is even a children’s area, the gambling and drinking parts of the club now being well separated from the quieter and dining areas.

For the way things were see earlier posts. I still miss The Red Dragon though, as noted last month: Steelers: Wollongong’s best Chinese restaurant gone west. The new caterers are Keith & Kathryn McPhee of Art Craft Catering who “have over 30 years experience and have earned rave reviews and awards during their time in the industry.” Yesterday I tried one of the pensioner specials: “Grain fed Rump Steak with chips, garden salad & sauce of your choice” at $15.

The steak was generous, the chips really good but the salad average. There are some interesting dishes on the (pdf) menu though.
